영감이 하는 일은 언제나 옳다
작은 시골마을에 노부부가 살고 있었다. 어느 날 이 부부는 자신들이 가지고 있는 말을 보다 더 필요한 물건으로 바꾸기로 결심하게 된다. 말을 끌고 밖으로 나간 영감은 지나가던 길에 암소를 끈 사람을 만나게 된다. 여러모로 말보다 암소가 더 쓸모 있다고 생각한 영감은 암소와 말을 바꾼다. 말과 바꾼 암소를 가지고 가던 길에 양을 치는 사람을 만난 영감은 이번엔 양의 털이 좋아 보여 암소를 양과 바꾼다. 양을 가지고 가던 길에 거위를 만난 영감은 할멈에게 주고 싶어 거위와 양을 맞바꾼다.
… 이렇게 말에서 시작해 여러번 바꾼 물건은 썩은 사과가 된다. 영감이 썩은 사과를 가지고 집에 돌아가는 길에 한 영국인이 영감의 얘기를 듣고, 분명히 집에 가면 할멈에게 잔소리를 들을거라면서 충고를 하는데, 영감은 절대 그러지 않을 것이며, 되레 할멈이 “영감이 하는 일은 언제나 옳아요!”라고 칭찬을 할 거라고 자신한다. 이 말에 어이가 없는 영국인은 영감에게 금화 한 통짜리 내기를 건다. 그렇게 영국인과 영감은 함께 영감의 집까지 찾아가게 되는데…

미운오리새끼
태어나기 이전 알의 모습부터 별났던 못생긴 새끼 오리는 다른 새끼 오리들과 ‘다른 외모’로 따돌림과 멸시를 받는다. 못생긴 외모 때문에 형제와 부모, 지나가던 다른 동물들에게까지 무시를 받으며 여기 저기로 쫓겨다니던 새끼 오리는 자신의 외모를 자책하며 자신감을 잃던 중, 아름다운 백조의 무리를 발견한다. 하얗고 우아한 백조무리에게 한 눈에 반한 못생긴 새끼 오리는 다시 놀림과 멸시를 받을거라고 생각하면서도 아름다운 백조 무리에게 자신의 마지막을 맡기기로 결심하고 힘껏 날아든다. 그런데 웬일인지 백조들은 못생긴 새끼 오리를 따뜻하게 맞아준다. 이를 이상하게 여긴 새끼오리는 물가에 자신의 모습을 비춰보는데, 자신의 모습이 백조와 꼭 같아 깜짝 놀라게 된다. 알고보니 못생긴 새끼 오리의 진짜 정체는 백조였던 것이다. 자신이 못생긴 새끼 오리인 줄 알았던 어엿한 백조로 성장하여 정원에 모인 사람들에게 아름답다는 찬사를 받는다. 이에 감동한 그는 힘겹게 보낸 자신의 어린시절을 돌아보게 되고, 이 모든 행복이 어려운 시간을 잘 견디고 지나 온 것에 대한 보상이란 것을 깨닫는다.

안데르센의 동화는 여타 동화작품에 비해 비교적 공간과 인물이 구체적이고 배경이나 등장인물에 대한 사실적 묘사가 많은 것이 특징이다. 또한, 권선징악, 인과응보 등 전통적인 가치관이 아닌 다양한 주제와 교훈을 다루고 있다는 점에서 시대와 상황을 불문하고 남녀노소 모두의 공감을 자아낸다.

소리꾼, 이승희Sorikkun(Korean Traditional Singer), Seunghee Lee
소리꾼 이승희는 동초제 심청가를 조소녀 명창에게 사사받았다.
동초제는 다른 '제'에 비해 사설이 잘 정리되어 있고, 연극적 요소가 많은 것이 특징이다.
이승희는 맑고 단단한 목을 가진 소리꾼으로, 무대 위에서 절제된 감정표현과 미니멀한 부채발림으로 '전형적이지 않고, 모던하다.'는 평가를 받고 있다.
소리꾼, 김소진Sorikkun(Korean Traditional Singer), Sojin Kim
소리꾼 김소진은 강산제 수궁가를 윤진철 명창에게 사사했다.
강산제는 옛 더늠과 고제소리, 재담이 많은 것이 특징이다.
김소진은 깊이 있는 성을을 가진 소리꾼으로, 판소리 안에 다양한 인물을 다이나믹하게 그려내며 소리를 통한 감정표현이 뛰어난 것으로 평가받고 있다.
고수, 이향하Gosu(Korean Traditional Drummer), Hyangha Lee
고수 이향하는 소리북을 조용복 명고에게 사사받았다.
그는 다양한 악기를 섭렵하여 판소리 고수 뿐 아니라, 밴드활동, 다양한 장르의 극 음악 제작 및 연주, 장단연구 및 교육 등 다양한 활동을 이어오고 있다.
고법을 구조적으로 설계하고 연주하는 데 탁월하며, 판소리 창작과정 안에서 '판소리 고법'을 깊이 있게 다루고 있다.
고수, 김홍식Gosu(Korean Traditional Drummer), Hongsik Kim
고수 김홍식은 소리북을 감남종 명고에게 사사받았다.
그가 가진 안정적인 한배(즉흥적이고 상대적인 국악 장단의 주기)와 자세, 소리를 안는 묵직한 성음으로 소리북을 연주하는 고수다.
대학졸업 이후, 굵직굵직한 판소리 작업에서 고수로 활약해왔으며 음악의 베이스가 되는 리듬연주에 탁월하다.
고수, 신승태Gosu(Korean Traditional Drummer), Seungtae Shin
고수 신승태는 국악타악을 전공한 후, 경기민요를 고주랑 명창으로부터 사사했다.
밴드 씽씽을 통해 민요 소리꾼으로 더 주목을 받아 왔지만, 굉장히 리듬감이 좋고 순발력이 좋은 고수로 속주와 변주에 강점을 가지고 있다.
베이스를 담당하는 큰 북 세트와 유율타악기의 사운드가 서로 잘 섞일 수 균형을 맞추는 역할에 탁월하다.

“The Ugly Duckling”
When the story begins, a mother duck’s eggs hatch. One of the little birds is perceived by the other birds and animals on the farm as an ugly little creature and suffers much verbal and physical abuse from them. He wanders sadly from the barnyard and lives with wild ducks and geese. The ugly duckling, now having fully grown and matured, is unable to endure a life of solitude and hardship any more and decides to throw himself at the flock of swans deciding that it is better to be killed by such beautiful birds than to live a life of ugliness and misery. He is shocked when the swans welcome and accept him, only to realize by looking at his reflection in the water that he had been, not a duckling, but a swan all this time. The flock takes to the air, and the now beautiful swan spreads his gorgeous large wings and takes flight with the rest of his new family.
“What the Old Man Does Is Always Right”
One old farmer couple lived in a small village. One day, She tells her husband to take their horse to the fair in the city where he can either sell the animal or swap it for something else. On the road to the city, the farmer exchanges the horse for a cow. He exchanges the cow for a sheep. He exchanges the sheep for a goose… finally, what he exchanged, at last, is the rotten apples. One Englishman sees him and gives advice to him that, when the farmer gets home, his wife will be so angry that she will beat him. The farmer replies that his wife will be pleased and will say “What the old man does is always right”. The Englishman feels so ridiculous from him and makes a deal with the farmer. The farmer accepts the bet. He tells the Englishmen that they can have the rotten apples, himself and his wife if he loses. So, Englishman and The farmer go back to home…
